I've even taken it outside for a BBQ night and it worked just great. It's an amazing sound that comes out of this small device, and the fact that you can listen to AM, FM, or a CD Player really covers any music possibility other than XM (although it has an aux-in adapter as well). I highly recommend this for an office use, or a small room.
To me, the system does a great job and is similar to all the things I like about my Bose. I currently own 2 Bose CD radios at home but the CBX-300 came to my office at work. If I had discovered the CBX-300 prior to splurging on the Bose, I would have been just as satisfied with the Onkyo's performance. Classy cabinet.excellent sound.ease of operation. Am familiar with Onkyo, a quality name.
The Remote for the Ipod is great. Its a great system. The advantage over the Bose is the inbuilt Ipod doc and remote.So if you get this product at $250 or less, its certainly worth it. A big thing for lazy people.Compared to the Bose, it's sound may be 5-10% less effective but not worth the price difference. The bass is excellent. The surround sound is effective.
Has a feature that pre-sets all the FM stations to the tuner, which is handy, and it set 17 FM stations for me, and they sound great. #45 and 46 are good and real loud, distortion takes over at 47 and up. Real happy with it as noted in my heading.
And I LOVE the clean lines, unobtrusiveness and simplicity. Overall, I'll have a lot of quality listening and fun with this thing for the money - chump change, really. **NOTE**: Some reviewers are disappointed in the volume - be sure to read the manual, which explains how to reset the max volume from factory setting of #44 up to as high as #50.
Got mine for $175 delivered. Setup was easy. I don't see how you can go wrong with this unit.
It won't blow your necktie over your shoulder, but the sound fills my big living room with vaulted ceilings. Remote works great from 15 feet.
Sounds fine, but still falls just a bit short of the Bose compact Wave system outstanding sound quality. Only minor compliant is that I would have liked an extra 30-50 watts. Nice packaging and compact. Easy to use.
